ResponsibilitiesThe Board of Review is a quasi-judicial agency established by State Statute with the intent of providing property owners with an informal venue to resolve assessed value disputes. The Board of Review does not have the authority to directly change actual property tax bills.

CompensationChairman receives $44,564 per year plus pension and healthcare benefits, trustees receive $40,000 per year plus pension and healthcare benefits. All members receive the same benefits as County employees.
QualificationsApplicants are required to have prior real estate experience and to take an examination to determine their aptitude for the office. Must consist of two members affiliated with the political party polling the highest vote for any county office in the county, and one member of the party polling the second highest vote for the same county office in the last general election.
