Responsibilities

Duties of the Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) include planning a 911 system; coordinating and supervising the implementation and maintenance of the system, including the establishment of equipment specifications and coding systems; receiving moneys for deposit into the Emergency Telephone System Fund; authorizing disbursements from the fund; and hiring any staff necessary for the implementation and upgrade of the system.

Qualifications

Public resident applicants must reside in DuPage County. Applicants may be representative of 911 public safety agencies such as police departments, fire departments, emergency medical services, and emergency services. Members may also be elected officials, including members of the County Board pursuant to the bylaws of the Emergency Telephone System Board. 

Composition

8 Board Members. The representatives consist of a member from: the DuPage County Board (Chairman of the ETSB Board), DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, DuPage Fire Chief's Association, DuPage Chief of Police Association, DuPage County Sherriff's Office, DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM), Office of Emergency Management, and 1 DuPage County citizen representative.
