Overweight/Over-Dimension (OWOD) Movement Permits
Per the Illinois Compiled Statutes, the DuPage County Engineer or the duly authorized assign under the Division of Transportation, reviews, approves and issues overweight/over-dimension (width, length and/or height) trucking movement permits on its jurisdictional roadways (see link to left for applicable County routes and map).
Some DuPage County highway roadways have bridges with additional weight limit restrictions. See the County's "Road Construction and Alerts" webpage for a listing of the affected routes/bridges. Alternate routes will have to be used to avoid these crossing locations.
NOTICE: DUE TO THE STORM SEWER INSTALLATION CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION ON STEARNS ROAD (CH 29) EAST/WEST OF IL-59 WITH 10' TEMPORARY LANE WIDTHS DURING PHASE I CONSTRUCTION, OVER-WIDTH TRUCK MOVEMENT PERMITS ARE RESTRICTED TO MAXIMUM 9.5' WIDTH UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. SEE ALTERNATE ROUTES FOR YOUR TRAVEL.
Please note that the Division of Transportation does NOT issue OW/OD trucking movement permits to permit "brokers", only to the trucking company performing the requested movement(s) on the County's roadway system.
If you have any questions regarding the OW/OD application procedures and/or forms, please contact the Division of Transportation Highway Permitting Department during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm, except holidays) at 630/407-6900 or via e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
