In the fall of 2005, DuPage County and its team of consultants began a study to determine the economic, transportation and socio-economic impact of the O'Hare Modernization Program on the County and its communities. The goal of the study is to determine what impacts and benefits might reasonably be seen as a result of the expansion of the airport and the opening of a proposed West Terminal in the DuPage section of the airport.
