Stormwater Management Hosting Sustainable Landscaping Seminar on May 6
DuPage County Stormwater Management and The Conservation Foundation are hosting a free Sustainable Landscaping Seminar for municipalities, park districts and others on Tuesday, May 6 from noon to 4:00 P.M.
With presentations from the Midwest Pesticide Action Center and University of Illinois Extension, attendees will learn about the environmental impacts of conventional landscaping, while walking away with in-depth training to implement sustainable landscaping practices. In addition, speakers will discuss the importance of communication campaigns to promote sustainable lawn care practices communitywide.
“Not only will this seminar focus on improving turf management at the municipal and park district levels, but attendees will also learn how to bring sustainable lawn practices into DuPage’s neighborhoods through improved communication efforts,” said DuPage County Stormwater Management Planning Committee Chairman Jim Zay. “These awareness campaigns help to invoke a more impactful change and are critical to improving the quality of the County’s streams and rivers.”
The seminar will be held at the Education Center in Cantigny Park (1s151 N Winfield Rd, Wheaton) and include lunch. Please register in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
