Electronics Recycling

Electronics Landfill Ban - effective January 1, 2012

Beginning January 1, 2012, electronics item will be banned from Illinois landfills (Public Act 97-0287) from all sources under penalty of law.  This site provides resources about electronics recycling, free residential recycling drop-off locations and a list of companies offering recycling services within DuPage County & the surrounding area. 

Recycling services at these locations are free of charge and open to the public.  Municipal Offices are closed on Saturday.  Call offices during the week for directions and to confirm holiday hours. 

  • Village of Addison Recycling Center - weekdays Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 711 N. Addison Road, (630) 279-2140 (open to public)
  • Downers Grove Township Highway Department - 3rd Saturday of each month (except holiday weekends) from 8:00 a.m. to noon at 318 E. Quincy St., Westmont, (630) 719-6625
