The DuPage Care Center is a licensed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that serves the residents of DuPage County.  Our Center is currently seeking experienced applicants to serve as a Director of Nursing to oversee the administration, training, supervision, budget development and management, customer service and provide our residents with a caring and secure atmosphere.

Responsibilities include:
• Directs and supervises the activities of all professional and sub-professional nursing personnel
• Hires, directs, evaluates, promotes, disciplines, and adjusts grievances or effectively recommends such actions for personnel assigned to staff
• Participates/leads regulatory survey processes
• Makes periodic rounds on all units and shifts to check quality of nursing care
• Oversees the care given to the resident, advises on specialized care problems
• Plans and outlines general nursing procedures for nursing personnel
• Coordinates, integrates, and evaluates functions and activities of the nursing program
• Works with the in-house Educator to ensure appropriate training and continuing education programs
• Develops and oversees the standards for resident care
• Ensures Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is conducted thoroughly as appropriate
• Plays key role in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) process
• Analyzes and evaluates the performance of nursing service personnel
• Prepares and maintains reports and composes correspondence regarding nursing activities
• Ensures adherence to State and Federal regulatory requirements
• Establishes and interprets nursing policies and objective of nursing service for subordinates
• Assists with the preparation of the annual budget and maintains the operating budget for personnel in the Nursing Division
• Collaborates with Medical Directors, physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses on providing appropriate medical oversight to the residents and patients
• Serves as a liaison between the residents, their families, staff and the general public

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
• Possession of an Illinois Registered Nurse License
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 8 years experience in the nursing field with progressively responsible experience including three years in a nursing administration or a comparable management position within a long-term care facility

The preferred candidate will possess:
• Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing
• Diverse professional background within the medical and long-term care fields
• Additional certifications such as Minimum Data Set and/ or Nursing Restorative certifications
