Title: Policy & Program Manager

Hours: Full-Time: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., evenings and weekends as required

Salary: $65,000-$70,000 annually

Responsibilities include:
•    Supports and leads a variety of county initiatives and special assignments
•    Researches potential policy and program initiatives
•    Analyzes and develops recommendations for policies, program planning, and evaluation activities
•    Coordinates and maintains the County’s Strategic Plans and works in collaboration with Department Heads and Countywide Election Officials
•    Presents at County meetings, as well as at meetings of other public and private entities
•    Serves as staff liaison to the DuPage Ethics Commission and coordinates the annual ethics training of all county employees
•    Assists the County Chairman and County Board with the selection process of board and commission appointees
•    Assists with the analysis, preparation and monitoring of legislation in support of the County’s legislative goals  
•    Serves as staff liaison to the County’s Strategic Planning Committee; works with department heads and elected officials to assist with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives; tracks and reports the progress to various committees and the County Board
•    Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decision for all assigned positions

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
•    Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or Public Administration
•    Three (3) years of broad and increasingly responsible experience in public administration and one (1) year of supervisory experience
•    Valid Illinois Driver’s License

The preferred candidate will have:
•    Prior legislative experience
•    Experience with governmental shared services and/or inter-governmental agreements
•    Experience with strategic planning initiatives
•    Master’s in Public Administration
