The DuPage Care Center is a licensed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that has been serving the residents of DuPage County for 125 years as one of the most modern, best equipped and professionally staffed centers in Illinois. Our mission is to provide quality long-term care as well as short-term rehabilitative services to DuPage County residents in a professional and caring manner.

We are seeking experienced applicants to serve as an Assistant Director of Nursing in collaboration with our Director of Nursing in the areas of administration, training, supervision, budget development and management, customer service and providing our residents with a caring and secure atmosphere.  There is currently one (1) position available.

Responsibilities include:
•    Supports the mission of the DuPage Care Center (DPCC) and Nursing Department by adhering to the DPCC values of Safety, Respect, Partnership, Promptness, and Stewardship
•    Serves as a resource person, develops, interprets, supports and implements facility and County policies and procedures
•    Serves as a clinical expert to front line staff and assists as needed with providing direct care
•    Interacts with vendors as needed, ensures compliance with the County’s Procurement process and procedures
•    Participates in clinical rounds, after-hours nursing leader on-call rotation and weekend manager on duty (WMOD) as assigned
•    Leads Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives as assigned by the Director of Nursing
•    Actively participates in nursing leadership initiatives including IDPH survey readiness and assists with developing nursing priorities, goals and action plans
•    Attends meetings and serves on various interdisciplinary committees as assigned by the Director of Nursing
•    Ensures adherence to State and Federal regulatory requirements
•    Evaluates nursing care and related documentation, makes recommendations to develop action plans for improvement
•    Supports nursing administration by providing supervision and oversight to critical areas including preparation and monitoring of the nursing department budget
•    Maintains accurate records and reports as required
•    Works with appropriate staff to coordinate a smooth transition for admissions, discharges and internal resident transfers
•    Provides support to the Medicare A program and assures compliance with documentation requirements
•    May assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing during their absence or in the event of a vacancy in the position
•    Prepares and submits initial and/or final reports to IDPH as directed
•    Supports the nursing scheduler by monitoring attendance, staffing and assignments
•    Participates as directed in recruitment, retention, education and performance evaluation activities
•    Promptly follows-up on customer service concerns and patient safety events
•    Models excellence in communication, teamwork, leadership and professional development

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
•    Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with 5 years of experience as a Nursing Supervisor or 10 years as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care facility
•    Licensed in Illinois as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN)

The preferred candidate will possess:
•    Master’s degree in nursing or related discipline
•    Diverse professional background within the healthcare field
•    Additional qualifications such as RAC-CT, Restorative Nurse certification, Wound Nurse certification
•    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
•    Proficiency in using standard office equipment (i.e., fax, photocopier, voicemail), computer and computer software such as MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, e-mail
•    Proficiency in documenting in an Electronic Health Record system (Example: CareVoyant, PointClickCare, EPIC, Meditech, Cerner)
