Welcome to the DuPage County Law Library

A law library is the laboratory of the legal profession. It is an extensively organized collection of materials that represent legal authority. As court decisions are rendered, the materials in a law library increases. Today, millions of legal cases are being heard because there is a greater tendency to seek legal solutions to an increasingly wider range of social problems. A valuable information source in an increasingly litigating society is the Law Library.
Mission
The mission of the DuPage County Law Library is to provide legal information services to all licensed attorneys, judges, as well as members of the public. Our goal is to provide our patrons with accurate up-to-date legal information. To achieve this goal we are committed to increasing the law library's collection to meet the needs of the legal community. At its present pace, the collection will double in size every nine years. Presently the DuPage County Law Library contains more than 26,000 volumes including compilations of statutory and case law accessible through state and federal statutes, digests, encyclopedias, regional reporters, treatises and legal periodicals.
Location
The library is located on the 2nd floor at the south end of the DuPage County Judicial center. It overlooks the pond and is designed in a pleasant semi-circular arrangement. Work and reading areas are located on the perimeter situated next to windows allowing for natural reading light. There is seating available to over 60 persons. Each year upwards of 40,000 patrons use the library facilities.
