State’s Attorney Berlin Honored With Education Center’s Making a Difference Award
Each year since 1979, the Education Center has honored an individual whom it feels has played an important role in improving the lives of children and young people. This year, the Education Center has named DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin recipient of the “2011 Making a Difference Award”.
In their selection of State’s Attorney Berlin, the Center highlights Berlin’s efforts as “someone who takes the time and has the dedication for those that need help.” The Center also praises Berlin’s “support of educational efforts and projects that help children become productive citizens.” Berlin was nominated for the award by Dr. Darlene J. Ruscitti, Superintendent of the Regional Office of Education.
“I am truly honored to receive this award from an organization that does so much for our children,” Berlin said. “It is true that our children are our most valuable resource. We owe it to them to give them every opportunity to succeed. Some kids may need a little more help than others and that is why I am so proud to be affiliated with the Education Center. They work individually with each person who walks through their doors to help them reach their full potential and realize their dreams. Their work is invaluable and as I thank them for this recognition, I also thank them for the work they do day in and day out to make a difference in our children’s lives”
Berlin will be honored at the 32nd Annual Kid’s Best Friend Dinner on November 18 held in the Grand Ballroom of Lisle/Naperville Hilton Hotel.
The Education Center is a nationally acclaimed organization serving the Naperville area with educational, vocational and counseling services for children and young people in need of special support to succeed in school and in life.
