Online Payment System - Payment by Credit Card

The taxpayer may pay their real estate taxes using a Visa, MasterCard and/or Discover Credit Card through October 29, 2014.

The office of the DuPage County Treasurer offers taxpayers the ability to pay their property taxes online using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card.  The Treasurer’s Office, along with JPMorgan Chase Bank, is accepting the payment of the 2013 real estate taxes, due June 3, 2014 and September 3, 2014, using this method. The credit card service provider will charge a 2.10% convenience fee for the transaction when you use your credit card. No portion of that convenience fee is retained by DuPage County.

When making your online payment, you will need your 10-digit property index number.  It is printed on the front of your tax bill.  If the bill is not available, the number can be acquired through our website's Tax Payment Status, you may want to contact us (630)407-5900 or you may contact your Township Assessor (also located on the front of your tax bill).

When paying property taxes online, be sure to schedule your payment date no later than the 1st installment due date of June 3, 2014 and the 2nd installment due date of September 3, 2014. The amount of the real estate tax charged to your credit card will be automatically charged to your account on that date. If your payment is returned to us as unpaid, there will be a $25.00 return item fee charged. See Return Payment Policy.

If you schedule your real estate tax payment to be paid after the due date, your payment amount should include the penalty due. Although the last date to pay using your credit card is October 29, 2014, please remember the actual due dates are June 3 and September 3, 2014. A penalty of 1.5% per month will be calculated on all late payment amounts.

Keep in mind also that if your online credit card payment has not been submitted by Tuesday, October 14, 2014, your name, property index number and tax amount will be published in a delinquent tax publication that is posted in local newspapers the week of October 27, 2014.

Only a payment for the full installment amount can be accepted. No partial payments will be accepted online.

  1. When you proceed to "pay now", you will be given a Transaction ID Number. Your Transaction ID Number identifies your property.
  2. Be sure to note this Transaction ID Number as it will be needed when completing your banking information.
  3. When the transaction is complete, you will be given a Confirmation Number and an Email Confirmation. Print this screen and keep it with your tax payment records.
