DuPage County Solid Waste Plan

The State of Illinois passed the Solid Waste Planning and Recycling Act in 1988 ("Act"). The Act mandated that each county must submit an officially adopted plan for the management of municipal waste, generated within its boundaries, to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Such plan shall conform with the waste management hierarchy, established as State policy in subsection (b) of Section 2 of the Illinois Solid Waste Management Act (Appendix A).
