DOG WASH N' WALK ~ SUNDAY, JULY 26TH
Join us on Sunday, July 26th from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at IIT's Rice Campus (201 East Loop Road) in Wheaton for the event all dogs look forward to. Brought to you by WERV 95.9 The River, the Dog Wash n' Walk features a bath for your furry friend; a walk with the Honorable Mayor Michael J. Gresk of Wheaton and his DCACC adoption alum "Nikko"; games, prizes and streaming broadcast by The 95.9 River Road Crew; obedience and agility demonstrations; food; local vendors and rescues showcasing their products, services and adoption animals. FOR A VERY LIMITED TIME: ADOPT ANY CAT OR KITTEN FOR $1
Anyone who is fortunate enough to enjoy the unbiased and unconditional love of a pet will tell you that you can't place a price on the love and companionship an animal can provide. That is why Friends of DCACC is making it possible for everyone to experience the joy of living with and caring for a beloved pet by reducing the adoption fee for any adult cat or kitten. Now for a limited time, the Friends of DCACC Foundation will subsidize $99 of each cat/kitten adoption fee, making it possible for you to adopt any cat or kitten for only $1 each. With kids home from school, extra time off and "stay-cations" forecasted, summer is the perfect time to bring a new family member home (or two). Adoption not only saves the life of the animal you adopt, but that of another animal in need arriving at the shelter. Hurry, this offer won't last long!

ADOPT A PET WITHOUT THE COMMITTMENT

Want to adopt a pet but don't have the time or energy that a real pet demands? Visit Friends of DCACC's Stuffed Pet Adoptions website to adopt a pet. Adoption fees range from $12 - $20 each and come with an official adoption certificate. 25% of each purchase will go directly to DCACC's homeless pets. Donations may be earned via this link only and cannot be tracked by going to the Stuffed Pet Adoptions homepage.

DCACC is proud to partner with Abitibi for paper recycling services. Not only is DCACC now being environmentally responsible with our paper waste, but we also earn funds based on the amount of recyclable paper waste that is collected in our yellow & green Paper Retriever bin (located in our parking lot.) So, empty your home of that unsightly paper clutter and drop it off in our Paper Retriever bin. Your recyclable trash is our treasure!

Virtual Food Drive Ongoing Local Food Pantries DCACC is helping address the need for pet basics such as pet food, pet treats and toys by holding a virtual food drive. This food drive is "virtual" because we're asking you to help as you can by bringing pet food, pet treats and toys to your local neighborhood food pantry and helping those in need in your own town. A sample list of local food pantries accepting pet food donations is available for download here. A more detailed list of DuPage County food pantries is available via the DuPage County HELPER Resource Listing. Please note: Not all food pantries are large enough to accommodate pet food donations. Please call ahead to confirm that your food pantry accepts pet food donations and to verify hours of drop-off.
