BEAR NAMED GRAND PRIZE WINNER IN BISSELL MVP PET PHOTO CONTEST!
Remember Bear?  If you voted for him in the Bissell MVP Most Valuable Pet Photo Contest, your votes paid off...literally.  Bear was awarded 5th place in the Grand Prize voting and selected by the powers that be at BisselL to receive $1,000 - all of which will be awarded to Friends of DCACC.  Thank you Bear and everyone who voted...you're MVP in our book!  Click here to view all Grand Prize winners.

 
DCACC PUPPY'S HEART SURGERY A SUCCESS!
Raven, a sweet 3-4-month old German Shepherd pup found as a stray underwent heart surgery at Purdue University last week to correct a severe heart defect.  Click here for updates as she begins her long journey back to health.  You can help Raven & other homeless pets like her receive their second chance at life by clicking here to Make a Donation to Friends of DCACC's Critical Care Fund.


IT'S AN EXTREME ADOPTION CAT ROOM MAKEOVER!
Over President's Day weekend, DCACC's adoption cat room received an extreme makeover courtesy of Eagle Scout Joshua Wilson, Harold Reed and Boy Scout Troop #374 of Wheaton, Illinois.  We hope you'll stop by the shelter to see their incredible work for yourself.  But if you can't make it in person, here are some photos of their work taken before, during and after the renovation.  Thank you Joshua, Harold & Troop #374 for making our adoption cat room feel more like "home" for our cats, volunteers & visitors!

THEY TOOK THE CHALLENGE...AND WON!
We would like to congratulate the winners of the 2009 "Take the Challenge" hosted by Friends of DCACC. The Challenge was for any individual or group to raise Dollars for Doggies & Kash for Kitties during the month of November in honor of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Month.  The winners are:

Most Raised:  The Office of Chris Kachiroubas, Circuit Court Clerk
Most Raised - Junior Division*:  Medinah Primary School
Most Raised Per Individual In A Group:  York Township Assessor's Office
*Because all entries were group entries, a Junior Division was added to replace the Individual category.

A penny a search and a portion of each purchase will be donated to DCACC.
