Make A Donation

DuPage County Animal Care & Control is the only “open admission” shelter in DuPage County serving close to 5,000 animals annually.  We are a self-supporting county agency and receive no taxpayer funding.

Friends of DuPage County Animal Care & Control is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing unwanted and abandoned animals in DuPage County with a second chance at life by enhancing the great work already being done by DCACC.  Our ability to accomplish our mission & vision relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors.  Our motto is:

“Never Turn Away Any Animal In Need.”

General Donations
Whether making a one time gift to Friends of DCACC or making a monthly pledge, every dollar helps make life better for animals in and around DuPage County.  Every gift is eligible to receive our e-newsletter and membership benefits apply to any gift of $35 or more ($25 for seniors over the age of 60 years or active students).

Annual Giving
DuPage County Animal Care & Control receives zero taxpayer dollars and gifts of any size are crucial to our success. Gifts may be unrestricted or restricted to a particular area such as critical care & rehabilitation, spay/neuter, educational programming, or any other program or project.

Monthly or Quarterly Giving
Monthly giving is a wonderful and generous way to help our shelter animals. Dedicated supporters like you make a monthly gift that provides a consistent, reliable stream of income, which allows us to focus resources on our mission of providing unwanted and abandoned animals in DuPage County with a second chance at life.  Members find it an easy way to budget their charitable giving. The entire process is automated.  All you have to do is provide us with a credit card you would like us to charge and amount on the date that you select each month.  $10.50 monthly gift minimum please.

Become a Member
We want you to join our community of dedicated animal lovers! Membership benefits apply to any gift of $35 or more ($25 for seniors over the age of 60 years or active students).  Please check our Become a Member page for more information on membership levels and benefits of becoming a member.

Gift Memberships
Is there an animal lover in your life?  Gift memberships can be purchased for anyone.  Membership with Friends of DCACC makes a great birthday, anniversary or holiday gift.  Give twice as much by giving the gift of compassion.  Here’s how it works:

  • Select the membership level you would like to give as a gift
  • Make a gift corresponding to the chosen membership level
  • Indicate that the membership is a gift
  • Provide the name and address of the recipient
  • Friends of DCACC will notify the recipient that a membership has been purchased for them
  • Gift memberships may be publicized or kept anonymous

Tribute Gifts (Memorial/Honor) – for People & Pets
Honor your favorite person or animal, or celebrate the life of a person or animal that has since passed on with a gift to our shelter animals.  Contributions in any amount given in honor or in memory of a person or animal will be acknowledged with a card. Please provide the name of the honoree, the name and address of the individual(s) to be notified, and your name as you would like it to appear on the acknowledgement.

Memorial gifts made in memory of a lost pet will be sent with a commemorative ”Rainbow Bridge" card to the pet’s family.

Become a “Birthday Buddy”
Before you blow out the candles on your next birthday cake, consider sharing your special day with our shelter animals.  Birthday Buddies are special people who unselfishly ask for donations for our shelter animals in lieu of birthday presents for themselves.  Birthday Buddies aren’t just for kids - regardless of how many candles are on your cake, you can become a Birthday Buddy!

Possible Birthday Buddy gifts that our animals would enjoy include:

  • Monetary Donations
  • Dog & Cat Toys
  • Dog & Cat Treats & Bones
  • Dog & Cat Beds

For more gift ideas, visit our Shelter Wish List page.  All Birthday Buddies receive a special thank you from our shelter animals.

Anniversaries/Special Occasions
Share the joy of your special occasion with our shelter animals.  Consider collecting monetary or in-kind donations in lieu of gifts for your anniversary, holiday or any other special occasion.  For gift ideas, visit our Shelter Wish List page.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Make your gift go twice as far.  Many employers offer to match charitable gifts made by their employees.  Check with your employer’s human resources department to see if your gift is eligible for an employer match.  All you need to do is provide us with your company’s matching gift application and we’ll do the rest.  For a quick listing of companies offering matching gift programs, click here.

In-Kind Donations
From newspaper to kitty litter, rawhides to blankets, our needs are constantly changing.  Please check our Shelter Wish List often for our current listing of needed supplies.
