HANTA VIRUS ALERT: As you may or may not have heard, the Seoul virus (in the Hantavirus family), is making recent headlines. Persons in both Wisconsin and Illinois who had contact with infected rats have tested positive for the virus. DuPage
County Animal Care & Control is reviewing our policies as it relates to rodent intakes to ensure the safety of our staff, residents, and animals. If you own or have recently come into contact with a rat and you have concerns, we recommend you contact
your physician. Learn more about Hanta Virus at.
FEE CHANGE ALERT: Effective Wednesday, February 1st, DCACC will charge an additional $15 fee for microchip registration on any dog or cat adopted or reclaimed from our facility with an AVID microchip. Additionally, fees for rabies registration
and relinquishment of unaltered (un-spayed or un-neutered) animals have changed. Be sure to consult the

DuPage County Animal Care & Control is a self-supporting (non taxpayer funded) county department designed to:
Vaccinate Against Rabies, It's The Law!
Each year DuPage County Animal Care and Control and the DuPage County Health Department keep track of the number of positive cases of rabies found in wildlife within the county. For the health and safety of all the people and pets of DuPage County, please
make sure all dogs and cats are current on their rabies vaccination - even if kept indoors. It's the law.
In-Kennel Enrichment Programs
DuPage County Animal Care & Control staff work together to ensure that our shelter animals are healthy, happy, and sound in the unfamiliar shelter environment until they are adopted. Through our kennel enrichment program staff and volunteers engage animals
with various activities to keep them well, both physically and mentally. Enrichment is a vital part of our successful adoption program.
