Building Permits & Zoning

Effective March 1, 2008 all general contractors and subcontractors doing work in unincorporated DuPage County will be required to be registered, bonded and insured through the Department of Economic Development and Planning.

Effective January 1, 2007
The revised building code for residential and commercial building

Effective April 1, 2006
ALL commercial permits submitted MUST meet ALL requirements for the
Illinois Energy Efficient Commercial Building Act

Fees

We accept credit and debit cards for payment of fees and services.

Per revisions to the Regulatory Services Schedule of Fees adopted by the DuPage County Board effective Monday March 3, 2008:

1. A non-refundable application fee is now required to be paid at the time of submittal of a building permit application. This fee will then be credited towards your permit fees upon permit issuance.

2. A one hundred dollar ($100.00) re-inspection fee is now required to be paid for all failed inspections PRIOR to the scheduling of a re-inspection. This may be facilitated by phone with the use of a major credit card.
