*Naperville Cares does not track services by household numbers. In FY 2008, 647 distinct households and 2,208 residents requested assistance. Naperville Cares provided 183 non-housing emergency assistance services and 398 housing emergency assistance services. There were 948 total requests.

EMERGENCY NEEDS - In fiscal year 2007, 32,631 persons (10,502 households) received emergency assistance in the form of food, clothing, prescriptions, or transportation.
RENT OR UTILITY ASSISTANCE - In fiscal year 2007, 8,671 persons in 2,866 households also received rent or utility financial assistance in order to prevent them from becoming homelessness.

a) DuPage County Human Services also administers LIHEAP assistance. In FY 07, 9,078 households were assisted and of these 519 households received emergency re-connecting or preventing a disconnect of essential utilities.

b) For Outreach Community Ministries, the Emergency Needs numbers are significantly higher than last year due to two apartment complex fires and one tornado in Carol Stream.
