Poverty Reports and Information
The U.S. Census Bureau has released state and local data related
to income estimates, poverty rates, and health insurance coverage
numbers from the American Community Survey. The Social IMPACT Research
Center of Heartland Alliance has done the analysis for you, creating
user-friendly fact sheets.
The Social IMPACT Research Center of Heartland Alliance has a series
of user friendly fact sheets that contain analysis of the latest
poverty trends, income dynamics, and health insurance coverage estimates
for the year 2008 released today by the Census Bureau. While the
economic downturn has greatly accelerated since 2008, making it
very likely that the 2008 figures underestimate the true deterioration
of incomes and increases in poverty, these fact sheets begin to
capture the first effects of the recession on low-income families.
Fact sheets are available for the United States, Illinois, other
Midwest states, and counties and places throughout Illinois with
populations of 65,000 or more.
