Bridge
Communities...connecting homeless families to a better future.
Bridge Communities is a non-profit organization providing transitional
housing, supportive services and mentoring to homeless families
in DuPage County through partnerships with faith-based organizations
and community groups.
Catholic
Charities, Diocese of Joliet provides a wide range of housing
and support services to homeless individuals in DuPage County. Programs
and services include the DuPage Emergency Shelter, Transitional
and Permanent Supportive Housing, Emergency Services, Homeless Prevention
services, etc. In addition to these Community Services Catholic
Charities provides foster care, adoption, maternity services, and
counseling services in DuPage.

The
DuPage Federation on Human Services is a planning, training
and change management organization that identifies gaps in services
and organizes collaborative efforts to address them. The Federation
has worked to expand access to health and mental health services,
to improve child support enforcement and positive parenting supports.
Of particular interest to agencies serving homeless persons, the
Federation conducts training and technical assistance that increases
access to mainstream public benefits. For more information, call

P.A.D.S. provides shelter, support services, and housing.
Edward
Hines Jr. VA Hospital provides information on veterans benefits,
services, patient information, employment, driving instructions,
links to community-based outpatient clinics and much, much, more!!
HUD
User is a web site operated by the Department of Housing and
Urban Development that is a resource for agencies and persons interested
in services for the homeless. This site is your gateway to current
written research and analytic tools produces by and for HUDs
Office of Policy Development and Research.
Interagency
Council to End Homelessness
The
Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV) is a not-for-profit
transitional living facility that provides assistance to U.S. veterans
of any era for the opportunity to return to useful and productive
lives by providing them with the skills necessary for independent
living. The Shelter provides a variety of independent living/transition
housing services including education (GED/College advising), psychotherapy,
substance abuse assessment and treatment, legal assistance, job
training, and employment/career opportunities. In addition, the
Shelter has cooperative relationships with hospitals, physicians,
lawyers, educators, and business professionals in the community
to provide services offsite. Staff and volunteers provide transportation
to these appointments. Independent living skills such as budgeting,
housekeeping, and preparation of meals are developed through staff
assistance.
Naperville
CARES mission is to provide resources to people within the Naperville
community who need assistance to avoid homelessness and attain self-sufficiency.

NCO
Youth & Family Services provides a wide range of services.
Prevention/Education on parenting, drug and alcohol prevention,
and leadership/decision making skills, Counseling services, Crisis
Intervention for runaways and locked out youth, homeless services
through group home for boys ages 13-17 and transitional housing
for males ages 18-21. The mission of NCO is to serve as an agent
for positive change for youth and families in the community through
provision of the highest quality programs and services.
Northern
Illinois Food Bank, a member of America's Second Harvest - The
Nation's Food Bank Network, acquires donated food from retailers,
manufacturers, corporations, and community resources and distributes
it through its network of 480 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens,
and other nonprofit food assistance sites to help the 227,000 people
living in poverty in 13 northern Illinois counties. NIFB currently
serves nonprofit agency partners in Boone, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy,
Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will,
and Winnebago Counties.
People's
Resource Center (PRC) provides basic
resources and pathways out of poverty to people from every community
in DuPage County. In the past year, through our main headquarters
in Wheaton, a satellite in Westmont, 21 neighborhood-based literacy
sites, 18 computer training sites, and 7 childrens art locations,
the PRC provided hospitality, resources to meet basic needs, and empowerment
programs to 19,216 people. Integrated services include our 100% choice
Food Market, the Clothes Connection, a mix of literacy programs, homeless
prevention assistance, art enrichment, computer training, and refurbished

Prarie
State Legal Services provides free civil legal services to low
income, elderly, and disabled residents of DuPage County. This involves
legal advice and representation primarily in the areas of government
benefit programs, health care issues, housing and consumer law.
Prairie State also has a separate legal project focusing on the
needs of homeless clients.
