Community Development Commission Forms And Documents Grant Applications & Selection Criteria CDBG / ESG Application Due Dates The table below shows the general due dates for different types of applications. Applicants should check notices or call the Community Development Commission office for specific due dates in a particular year. Deadlines will be established as we approach the funding round dates.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Projects funded by the CDBG and ESG programs are selected from individual applications submitted by the municipalities, the County, and many non-profit groups. The selection process requires several steps before final approval of projects. Annual applications are generally due to the CDC in October, the CDC completes its recommendation in December, and the County Board takes final action in February. The funds are available to start new activities in April. Administration of each project is done through a Subgrantee Agreement with a sharing of responsibility between the Subgrantee and the CDC Staff. CDBG and ESG grants work on a cluster system. The five need clusters focus on:

Housing Development Fund (HDF, set-aside CDBG money), follows HOME program rules and is offered during the HOME funding round. Each year CDC accepts at least one round of applications due the beginning of December. If grant money is still available, a second round may be added the following July. This round of 2010 HOME/HDF applications are due Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 4:30 pm. No applications can be accepted after this deadline. Applications will be reviewed through the months of December and January and funding announcements will be made in early spring. Program Information, Application, And Selection Criteria Please read all documents before completing the application! 2010 HOME/HDF Letter of Intent Progress Reports All forms have been individualized, please contact your CDC project manager. HUD Regulations, Policies, Guidelines, And Requirements For each type of recipient, there is a set of Federal principles, called Uniform Administrative Requirements, which determine allowable costs for grants. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) publishes the allowable costs for all grant recipients in their Circulars. For your convenience, we have provided links to the appropriate documents here. These requirements differ for each recipient - requirements for government subgrantees are not the same as requirements for nonprofit subgrantees. Please be sure to work from the appropriate table - if you have any questions, please contact the CDC staff person assigned to your project.
