The DuPage Convalescent Center has an in-house Pharmacy to supply the medication needs of residents. The Pharmacy staff dispenses and monitors the distribution of medications to meet all state and federal standards. The Dining Services staff plan daily menus to ensure a well-balanced diet for all residents. Special diets will be accomodated in accordance with Physicians' orders. Dining Services prepares over 40,000 meals per month for residents and over 80,000 a month countywide to staff, volunteers and visitors to cafeterias within the Convalescent Center, Courthouse and JTK Administration Building.
The Center employs a full-time Chaplain to address the religious and spiritual needs of residents, families, friends, volunteers and staff and provides spiritual support and counseling. The Chaplain serves as a liaison to community clergy and laity, encouraging their ministry to residents who are members of their congregation. To speak to the Chaplain call 630-784-4262.
Financial Services manage residents banking through a Personal Trust account. Residents may open a personal, interest-bearing account at the Resident Bank located on the Ground Floor of the South building. For more information, please contact Financial Services at 630-784-4211.
Hair salon and barber services are available for a fee. Licensed hair stylists provide a full compliment of services including shampoo and set, haircut, permanent and hair coloring. For more information and fees call the Hair Salon directly at 630-784-4286.
The Gifts, Etc. gift shop is located on the ground floor of the South building. A fine selection of reasonably priced retail items are for sale for your convenience. Hours of operation vary bsed on availability of volunteers and staff.
The Hidden Treasures Resale Shop is located on the ground floor in the North Building. Come and see why one mans junk is another mans treasure. The Resale Shop is open Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 noon and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Cafeteria is located on the first floor of the South Building. Visitors and residents are welcome to purchase meals. The daily menu is posted at the entrance. Hours are Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Pets
Pets are welcome at the Center during regular visiting hours. We require visiting animals to be in good health, well behaved, clean and groomed. Dogs and cats must be on a leash at all times and are not permitted in dining areas at meal times, except if the pet is a working dog or seeing eye dog. The Therapeutic Recreation Department offers a weekly Pet Friends visit.
