Peter A. Siekmann Biographical Information
DuPage County Coroner

Peter (“Pete”) A. Siekmann is a lifelong Republican and resident of DuPage County. He grew up and still resides in West Chicago with his wife of over 25 years, Jeni and their three children – Kelly, John and Jim.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Pete has served the people of DuPage County for over 32 years. He began his career with the coroner’s office as a Disaster Deputy Coroner in 1974. Two years later he was hired for the full-time position of Deputy Coroner, where he worked as an investigator on the street for 17 years. His next 11 years were spent as Chief Deputy Coroner, supervising the investigations division.

Throughout his career Pete has been involved in over 10,000 death investigations, including over 150 homicides. He has attended several hundred autopsies and presided over more than 1,000 inquest hearings. In addition, Pete has given numerous lectures to schools and organizations regarding public safety and the causes and prevention of premature death. He was also involved in the development of a disaster plan with the DuPage County OEM.
