PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS

Any person engaging in the business of peddling or soliciting in unincorporated DuPage County must first register his/her name and the name of any firm which he/she represents with the DuPage County Clerk.

The fee is $1.00 and is effective from January 1st – December 31st.

DEFINITIONS:
Peddler: Any person not having any specific place of business or branch thereof in DuPage County, who shall sell or offer for sale, barter, or exchange, at retail or wholesale, any goods, wares or merchandise, traveling from place to place in, along and upon the streets, alleys or public places of DuPage County.

Solicitor: Any person who, without having a specific place of business in DuPage County, is engaged in the business of calling from house to house and soliciting orders for any kind of goods, wares, merchandise or services but shall not, as used herein, include any person who solicits among the inhabitants of DuPage County support for any religious, charitable or educational organization, but shall include any person who solicits subscriptions for any daily, weekly or other periodical or non-periodical publication.

HOURS FOR PEDDLING AND SOLICITING:

10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., when Central Standard Time is in effect.

10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., when Central Daylight Savings Time is in effect.
