Criminal / Traffic Department

There are no fees for filing criminal or quasi criminal charges. Individuals may not file these charges directly with the clerk. If you have a complaint, please contact your local police department or the DuPage County State’s Attorney

The following are the current criminal and quasi criminal case types:

CRIMINAL FELONY (CF) - FELONY DIVISION
Any violation of the criminal code or any other Illinois statute classified as Murder, Classes X, 1, 2, 3, 4 or other felony which provides for imprisonment in the state penitentiary for more than one year or death.

CRIMINAL MISDEMEANOR (CM) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Any violation of the criminal code or other Illinois statute classified as Classes A, B, C, business offense or petty offense that provide for a fine or imprisonment in a penal institution other than the state penitentiary for a term of less than one year.

D.U.I. (DT) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Any violation of 625 ILCS 5/l l-501 et. seq. or a similar municipal ordinance relating to offense of alcohol, drugs or a combination which provides for a fine or imprisonment in a penal institution for a term of less than one year.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (DV) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Violations of 720 ILCS 5/12-3.2 et. seq. or 720 ILCS 5/12-30 et. seq

CONTEMPT OF COURT (CC) - FELONY OR MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
When ordered by a judge.

CONSERVATION (CV) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Any violation of a state statute, county, or local ordinance outlined in Supreme Court Rule 501(c).

TRAFFIC (TR) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Any violation of a state statute, ordinance or regulation relating to the operation or use of a motor vehicle, the use of streets and highways by pedestrians as well as violations under Supreme Court Rule 501(f).

ORDINANCE VIOLATION (OV) - MISDEMEANOR DIVISION
Any violation of a local ordinance not contained above.

$4.00 Certified Copies

Motions to Vacate
For an order of:

Judgment on Forfeiture, $25
Ex parte Judgment of Conviction, $30
Ex parte Judgment, $30
Failure to Appear, $40
Failure to Comply, $40

Motions to vacate or amend final orders, $40
