West Branch River Restoration

Thank you for visiting our informational web site, sponsored by the County of DuPage. Below you will find links to informational exhibits that we hope will describe the restoration goals that the County, in conjunction with our partners, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, are attempting to accomplish within the West Branch River Valley. Each informational exhibit also contains a link to a conceptual project plan that seeks to implement the associated restoration goals. We encourage you to provide us with your comments so that we can develop the best final list of projects as possible.

West Branch of the DuPage River Watershed Plan
Public Comment

At its January 3, 2006 meeting, the DuPage County Stormwater Management Committee authorized the release of a draft of the West Branch of the DuPage River Watershed Plan (“Plan”). The Plan summarizes the recommendations of the Committee related to water quality and quantity restoration projects. The Plan, it’s appendices, and exhibits can be viewed online by following the links below. Due to the size of the exhibit files they have been separated from the text of the document to facilitate downloading of the files.

The public comment period for the Plan will close on February 1, 2006. A Comment/Response document will be prepared to address all comments received. This document as well as a final draft of the Plan are scheduled to be presented to the Committee for action at its February 7, 2006 meeting. Written comments can be sent to:
