Nutrition Specialist Providing Best Care Possible at Convalescent Center

The DuPage County Convalescent Center is pleased to announce that Carole Foner, the Center’s full time Dietitian Supervisor since 1999, has achieved Board Certification as a Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition.

To become board certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) – the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association (ADA) – a registered dietitian must successfully meet rigorous specialty practice requirements and pass a national administered examination.

“Thanks to hard working and dedicated individuals like Carole, the residents of the Convalescent Center are receiving the best care possible,” said Robert Schroeder (District 5), Chairman of the County’s Health and Human Services Committee.

Board certified specialists in Gerontological Nutrition design implement and manage safe and effective nutrition strategies to promote the quality of life and health for older adults.  They work directly with older adults to provide optimal nutrition and food sources and information in a variety of settings such as the Convalescent Center

With nearly 65,000 members, the ADA is the world’s largest organization for food and nutrition professionals.  Headquarters in Chicago, it serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition and well being for all people.
