Newest Board Members Receive Committee Chairmanships

WHEATON —   J.R. McBride, Michael Connelly and Jeffrey Redick – the three newest members to the DuPage County Board – each received committee chairmanships on Tuesday as the County Board approved all new committee assignments.

Under the approved assignments, McBride (District 4) will chair the Public Transit Committee; Connelly (District 5) will chair the Economic and Development Committee and Redick (District 2) will chair the Environmental Committee. 

In making his committee assignments, DuPage County Board Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom noted that each of the newest members to the Board will bring a fresh perspective to the important issues that will come before each committee.

“The County Board, and DuPage County as a whole, is fortunate to have these three new members serving our residents,” said Schillerstrom.  “As Committee Chairman, each of these members will serve a vital role in shaping policy dealing with issues affecting such areas as transit, economic development and the environment.  I look forward to working with each of them in the days, weeks and months ahead.”

Aside from their committee chairmanships, each of the new members will serve on other committees as well, noted Schillerstrom.  

• McBride will serve on Health and Human Services, Stormwater, Transportation and Legislative.
• Connelly will serve on Judicial and Public Safety, Technology, Stormwater, and Legislative.
• Redick will serve on Public Transit (Vice Chairman), Intergovernmental, Strategic Planning and Transportation.
