FALL FESTIVAL RAISES OVER $40,000 FOR CONVALESCENT CENTER

DU PAGE COUNTY -- The DuPage County Convalescent Center is pleased to announce that the 42nd Annual Fall Festival and 8th Annual 5K Run/Family Walk, both held by the Convalescent Center on September 19, were enormously successful.  The 5K Run drew nearly 350 participants and raised $12,600, all of which will be used to expand the quality of life opportunities available to Convalescent Center residents.

Proceeds from the Fall Festival, which earned over $28,000, will be used to enhance the Center's Recreation Therapy program.  This program provides entertainment and recreational outings for residents that would otherwise be unavailable to them.  Such outings include trips to comedy clubs, sporting events, the zoo and even afternoon boat cruises.  The Center's Garden Club program, holiday socials and fine arts programs are also funded by the Fall Festival.

"On behalf of staff at the Convalescent Center, I want to thank everyone who attended, and supported, this year's Fall Festival," said DuPage County Chairman Bob Schillerstrom.  "The Convalescent Center is one of the greatest assets we have here in DuPage, and the turnout certainly speaks volumes about how much it means to the people in our community."
