SHEAHAN APPOINTED TO NACo TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
DU PAGE COUNTY -- DuPage County Board Member Brien Sheahan (District 2) has been appointed to the National Association of Counties' (NACo) Telecommunications and Technology Steering Committee. The Telecommunications and Technology Steering Committee is a comprehensive working group, responsible for matters regarding the implementation of cable services, information technology development and innovation, Geospatial data collection and utilization, as well as the County's role as a telecommunications regulator, service provider and consumer.
Sheahan, whose District includes Elmhurst, Lombard and Villa Park, has garnered important experience as Chairman of the DuPage County Technology Committee.
"I'm honored to accept this appointment, and to have the opportunity to contribute at the national level as a member of NACo's Telecommunications and Technology Committee," Sheahan said. "This gives me a wonderful opportunity to move innovative ideas forward which will benefit DuPage County, the Metropolitan Chicago area, and counties throughout America."
NACo membership includes over 2,000 County governments across United States, who in turn represents more then 80% of all Americans. The association advances issues with a unified voice before the federal government, improves the public's understanding of County government, assists Counties in finding and sharing ground-breaking solutions through education and research, and provides value-added services to save Counties and taxpayers money.
