REGISTER NOW FOR THE 2010 APPLE DASH 5K RUN AND FAMILY WALK

It's time for runners, walkers and all health enthusiasts to register for the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation's ninth annual race-the 2010 Apple Dash 5K Run and Family Walk, one of the best area races of the year, held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 8:25 a.m.

This Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) Certified Race includes three classes:  runners, walkers and wheelchair racers.  All race participants will be chip timed and scored and will receive a t-shirt and goody bag.  Medals are hand-made by the Center's residents and will be awarded to the top finishers in over 27 different categories. Prizes will be given to the overall winners in the male and female runner divisions, as well as the wheelchair division. Awards will be presented to the team with the five fastest combined times and the team which collects the most donations over the race entry fee.  Alliance Rehab will provide free pre-race stretching and recovery food will be available compliments of Trader Joe's Naperville.

Gold Sponsors for the 2010 Apple Dash 5K Run and Family Walk are Stratford Dental and Wine Sergi.  Silver Sponsors are Rutledge Company LLC, Suburban Bank and Trust, and Tyndale Publishers.

The Apple Dash 5K race is held in conjunction with the DuPage Convalescent Center's annual Fall Festival which features entertainment, crafts, games and food.  The DuPage Convalescent Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located at 400 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton, IL.  Proceeds from the event will enhance and expand quality of life programs and services available to the Center's multigenerational residents.

The Apple Dash 5K Run and Family Walk registration fee is $25 on or before September 13th, and $28 after.  Discounts are available for CARA members, DuPage County employees, and former York Community High School runners.  Online registration is available through September 16th at www.dupageco.org/dpccfoundation or www.signmeup.com/69737.  Credit cards will not be accepted for race day registrations.
