We would very much appreciate an organization or individuals collecting monies ("Change")or having a small fundraiser (yardsale? or "selling" lunch?) in order to help us put monies in our Food Bank account at the Northern Illinois Food Bank. These monies could be raised however was convenient to the doners. This is an Annual Giving Guide Opportunity
Impact
Our residents have an account with the Illnois Food Bank which has allowed them to really stretch their food budgets. Although they still "buy" food and household items at the food bank it is such a tremendous savings that it has truly made a world of difference in their ability to pay their bills and budget their money. They also now use some of these items to cook a warm, delicious meal for the homeless shelter (PADS) once a month so that they can "give back". This has become a full circle process and has really helped these residents step out of themselves. Any monies given to us would be given directly to the NIFB and they would, in turn, match that amount with monies into our account. In this way, you would really be giving to two agencies at once.
