BRIGHTEN VALENTINE’S DAY WITH BALLOONSLast year, over 1,000 heart-shaped helium balloons decorated the corridors and rooms of the Center on Valentine’s Day. Volunteers and staff delivered the balloons to the more than 350 residents living at the Center, brightening the day and bringing lots of smiles along the way. “We are looking forward to continuing this 18-year old tradition,” said Beth Welch, Convalescent Center Administrator. “Every year, Valentine’s Day gives us an additional opportunity to warm the hearts of the many elderly and disabled individuals who live here in our community.” The balloons will be delivered to the residents on Wednesday, February 14th. “Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to reach out and offer heartfelt greetings to our residents. I encourage everyone to not only brighten Valentine’s Day but also to get involved in our many recreational and volunteer programs that enhance the quality of life for Convalescent Center residents,” Chairman Schillerstrom said. By making a donation of just $2.50 per balloon, members of the community can help spread cheer to our residents on Valentine’s Day. Donations should be received by February 13, 2007 and may be sent to: “ Funds from the sale of balloons will benefit the Resident Recreation Fund, which provides programs and activities to improve the quality of life of residents living at the Center.
