Convalescent Center: Brighten Valentine’s Day with Balloons
WHEATON– The DuPage Convalescent Center is offering DuPage residents an opportunity to bring some Valentine’s Day cheer those individuals who reside in the center.
Last year, over 1,000 heart-shaped helium balloons decorated the corridors and rooms of the Center on Valentine’s Day. Volunteers and staff delivered the balloons to the more than 350 residents living at the Center, brightening their day and bringing lots of smiles along the way.
“We are looking forward to continuing this 18-year old tradition,” said Beth Welch, Convalescent Center Administrator. “Every year, Valentine’s Day gives us an additional opportunity to warm the hearts of the many elderly and disabled individuals who live here in our community.”
The balloons will be delivered to the residents on Wednesday, February 14th.
By making a donation of just $2.50 per balloon, members of the community can help spread cheer to residents on Valentine’s Day. Donations should be received by February 13, 2007 and may be sent to: “DuPage Convalescent Center”, Attn: Valentine Balloons, 400 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187.
Funds from the sale of balloons will benefit the Resident Recreation Fund, which provides programs and activities to improve the quality of life of residents living at the Center.
