VOLUNTEEN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER ANNOUNCED DUPAGE CONVALESCENT CENTER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES WINNER OF THE REGIS MCGINNIS VOLUNTEEN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WHEATON-- This year’s recipient of the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation Regis McGinnis Scholarship is Timothy L. Thorpe of suburban Naperville. Tim has been a VolunTeen at the DuPage Convalescent Center for 3 years. Tim is also a youth advisor at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Naperville, a D.J. and a bus boy/cashier. In the fall, Tim will be attending Loyola University in Chicago and will be pursing a major in secondary education/math. The DuPage Convalescent Center would like to congratulate Tim and wish him well in his future endeavors. A special thank you goes out to all of our VolunTeens for making a difference in the lives of our residents. If you are looking for a way to keep busy and spread joy this summer, you too can become a VolunTeen! Teenagers can learn new skills and explore the healthcare field while helping others by joining the “VolunTeen” program at the DuPage Convalescent Center. Located in Wheaton, the Center provides skilled nursing and rehabilitative care to 350+ residents ranging in age from 21 to over 100. Teens can assist with in-house transport, Recreational programs and community outings, gardening, special events and much, much more.
