DuPageConvalescent CenterFoundation Unveils New Family Dining Room for Residents

Wheaton, IL – On Monday, August 20, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation will host an open house viewing of their new Family Dining Room.  The Family Dining Room renovation was selected as a key quality of life project for the Foundation after a “needs assessment” conducted among residents, staff and family members identified the need for such a private gathering space for residents.

The Family Dining Room will provide a home-like setting in which the DuPage Convalescent Center’s 350 plus residents may meet in private with visiting friends and family members.  Occupying two adjoining rooms complete with a functioning kitchen, dining room furniture, sitting area and fireplace, the Family Dining Room is a warm oasis for residents and visitors alike.

“The DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life for the Center’s residents” said DuPage County Board Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom.  “Many of the residents are at the Convalescent Center on a long term basis, and unlike ourselves, are unable to celebrate holidays or special occasions with family and friends in the privacy of their own homes.”

The Family Dining Room is the Foundation’s way of ensuring that residents are able to enjoy some of the same comforts of home that they would otherwise not have access to. The Family Dining Room is also designed to support the DuPage Convalescent Center’s commitment to maintaining the “spirit” of its residents in addition to their physical well being.

The Family Dining Room is a quality of life environmental project made possible by the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation thanks to the generosity of its private and corporate donors.  Members of the media are invited to attend the open house from

4 p.m. – 6 p.m.  For more information about the Foundation or to make a donation, please call the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation at (630) 784-4201 or visit the Foundation Web site at www.dpccfoundation.org.
