WHEATON (September 13, 2007) ― Community Resource Information System (C.R.I.S.) is a fast and easy way to obtain basic information on social services programs and services throughout DuPage County.

C.R.I.S. is comprised of non-profit agencies, as well as for-profit agencies, that offer unique services that are beneficial to the community. It can be accessed either via the Internet at www.dupagecris.org, or by calling DuPage County at 630-407-6500, or 1-800-942-9412. By using the power of electronic technology, “C.R.I.S.” represents a major enhancement to the information and referral telephone services the county has been providing for many years.

C.R.I.S., with its electronic technology, makes the integration and updating of information easier, and more reliable. It has quickly become the leading source of social service provider information in the county. Accessibility to the information has greatly improved, allowing the general public, as well as social service agencies, the ability to quickly and easily locate information on food, clothing, housing, and other services. With recent upgrades to the system, agencies now have the ability to update their own information directly in “C.R.I.S.”, with just a few steps. This allows for a more efficient updating process, and virtually eliminates the need to contact the county to implement any changes to their information.

There are currently over 1,000 agencies listed in C.R.I.S. We welcome your agency to join C.R.I.S. If you are interested in being a part of the C.R.I.S. database, just follow these simple steps. Go to www.dupagecris.org, and click on the Add Your Agency button and follow the on screen directions. Your information will then be sent to DuPage County to be screened for approval. Once the information is reviewed it will be either added to the database and you will receive an email message, or you will receive a notice that your agency did not meet the criteria for acceptance. Your participation in C.R.I.S. will help us to “Build A Better Community”.
