Statement by Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom on the passing of Henry Hyde

“Today, DuPage County and the people of America have lost a great American.

Henry Hyde was a dedicated public servant who always put the needs of those he served first and foremost in everything he did.  Henry always had an open door and was always willing to give his time and energy to those he served. 

Throughout his tenure in Washington, Henry never stopped caring about DuPage County and the people who make our county great -- he always remembered where he came from.  His years of service also put him at the forefront of the historic events that marked the last quarter of the 20^th Century. 

His commitment to the families of our community, to the people of Illinois and to the citizens of the United States will be sorely missed.”
