BENNINGTON APPOINTED TO WATER COMMISSION

WHEATON― Tom Bennington, Chairman of the County’s Public Works Committee, has been appointed to the DuPage Water Commission.  Bennington’s appointment, submitted by Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom, was unanimously approved by the County Board on Tuesday. 

“I am honored to serve on this important Commission whose objective is simple:  provide clean, affordable water to the residents of DuPage County,” said Bennington (District 3).  “The Water Commission is an excellent example of local units of government working together toward one common goal, which benefits all of our residents.” 

The mission of the DuPage Water Commission is to provide reliable, quality, responsive, and cost-efficient Lake Michigan water service for existing and future customers.

The DuPage Water Commission is governed by a Board of Commissioners consisting of 12 members and a Chairman. The DuPage County Board Chairman with the approval of the DuPage County Board appoints the Chairman and six of the Commissioners. The other six Commissioners are elected by the mayors/presidents of the municipalities within a County Board District.
