Residents Can Recycle Unwanted Documents by Safely Shredding Them

WHEATONDuPage County is pleased to announce that residents are welcome to shred their personal documents free of charge.  Participants will be able to place their documents into a secured container which is then run through a shredder.  A video screen on the side of the truck will allow a viewing of the documents as they are shredded. 

“The purpose of these events is two-fold,” says Jeff Redick, Chairman of the County’s Environmental Committee.  “With the rampant increase in identity theft, these events provide a safe means for DuPage residents to discard their personal documents in a safe and secure manner.  Second, it provides an environmental benefit since 100 percent of all the shredded documents are recycled.”

This document shredding event utilizes state-of-the-art mobile shredding trucks, which are faster, more efficient, and have a high-volume destruction process.  It will save residents time and money if they are currently doing their own shredding, and destruction is done quickly while they watch.  There is a limit of three paper grocery bags or three small boxes per vehicle.  

Residents are encouraged to bring their documents to:
