2008 FALL FESTIVAL 5K RUN/FAMILY WALK

Now is the time to run…..or walk…..to register for the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation’s 5K Run/Family Walk – a CARA Circuit race.

This 5K Run/Family Walk will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  Proceeds benefit the residents of the DuPage Convalescent Center.  Start time is at 8:25 a.m.

This event features three classes, including runners, walkers and wheelchair racers.  New this year will be a “team challenge.”  The winning team will be determined by the top five combined times of the team members.  All race participants will be timed and scored and will receive a t-shirt and goody bag.  Medals are hand-made by the Center’s residents and will be awarded to top finishers in over 27 different categories.

Registration brochures are available at the DuPage Convalescent Center, by calling the Festival hotline at (630) 784-4495 or online at www.dpccfoundation.org or www.signmeup.com/60131.

The 5K race is part of the DuPage Convalescent Center’s annual Fall Festival.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation.  The DuPage Convalescent Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located at 400 N. County Farm Rd. in Wheaton, Illinois. The proceeds from this event will enhance and expand quality of life opportunities available to Convalescent Center residents.

The Festival lasts from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm and features games, prizes and live entertainment for kids of all ages including: outdoor vendors, food, car show, bake sale, book fair, scarecrow patch, resident crafts, garage sale, raffle with many great prizes and Animal Care & Control activities.

There are also many ways you can lend a hand.  Volunteers are needed to assist with the event and we are currently looking for additional crafters and flea market vendors.   For additional information, or if you are looking for ways to help, call the Fall Festival/5K hotline at (630) 784-4495, e-mail at fallfestival5K@dupageco.org or visit our Web site at www.dpccfoundation.org.  Thank you for your support!
