O’SHEA VOICES OPPOSITION TO ARDMORE AVENUE EXTENSION PROJECT

WHEATON DuPage County Board Member Patrick O’Shea is today voicing his opposition to the Ardmore Avenue Extension project in Oakbrook Terrace.  The project, notes O’Shea, would adversely impact the approximately 4,500 Brandywine residents, many of whom are children.

“Over 60 town homes and 200 driveways connect to Admore Avenue, all of which will be adversely impacted as a result of this project,” said O’Shea (District 2).  “Engineering reports estimate a three-fold increase in traffic from 865 cars per day to 2,145 cars per day for this community.  This is unacceptable.”

O’Shea is further asking the City of Oakbrook Terrace to reconsider the Ardmore Avenue extension and to take into consideration the Brandywine community’s valid concerns with this project.

“I have received a petition from Brandywine residents consisting of 1,015 original signatures in opposition to this project,” said O’Shea.  “I stand with the residents of Brandywine in opposition to this project.”
