DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER WILL BE OPEN ON COLUMBUS DAY HOLIDAY

DuPage County DuPage County Board Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom announced on Wednesday that FEMA’s Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be open on Columbus Day, Monday, October 13th

“While county government and departments will be closed for the Columbus Day Holiday, the DRC will remain open and operating,” said Schillerstrom.  “I want to again thank FEMA for the work they are doing to assist those affected by last month’s flooding.”

The DRC is located in the cafeteria (second floor) of the DuPage County Jack T. Knuepfer Administration Building, located at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton.  Regular hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The DRC is open Monday through Sunday.  Those planning to attend should park on the top floor of the north parking deck and enter via the walkway.

Prior to visiting the DRC, residents and businesses should register with FEMA.  Those in the counties designated for assistance (Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, LaSalle, and Will) can begin the disaster application process by registering online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.
