Convalescent Center Holiday Bazaar “Preparing for the Holidays”

DU PAGE COUNTY, IL ― In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, the DuPage Convalescent Center is having a Holiday Bazaar to add to a host of holiday festivities this year.

“We are always looking for creative ways to increase community involvement within our facility while providing an opportunity for our resident’s, staff, volunteers and family members to find Christmas gifts that they are unable to find in stores,” said Yolanda Campuzano (District 1), Chairwoman of the County’s Health and Human Services Committee. 

The Holiday Bazaar has something for everyone in terms of Christmas shopping.  It includes a community craft fair, resident created crafts, book fair, bake sale and a Luminaria Sale.   Luminaries can be purchased in memory of, or in honor of, a loved one and will be placed near the Center’s gazebo area along County Farm Road on December 23^rd to remain lit until after Christmas. 

The Bazaar will be held on the first floor of the Convalescent Center at 400 North County Farm Road, on Friday, December 5^th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All proceeds from the Bazaar go to support the Resident Recreation Fund.  This fund is used to provide programming and activities to enhance the care and quality of life for Center residents. 

There are also many ways residents can lend a hand.  Organizers are currently looking for additional craft vendors.   The cost to rent an 8’ x 10’ space is $50.00 with a minimal charge for additional tables.  For additional information call Dolores Garlic at (630) 784-4249.  To become a volunteer or to donate bake sale items call the Volunteer Office at (630) 784-4260.
