SCHILLERSTROM AND SHEAHAN TRAVEL TO WASHINGTON D.C. TO DISCUSS FEDERAL STIMULUS BILL AND TRANSPORTATION ISSUES
WHEATON ― DuPage County Board Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom and DuPage County Board Member Brien Sheahan (District 2 – Elmhurst) traveled to Washington, D.C. this week to ensure DuPage County, and its infrastructure needs, are included in the final stimulus plan being debated in Congress.
“We have significant infrastructure and capital needs, and it is important that our needs are included in the stimulus bill coming out of Washington,” said Schillerstrom. “I want to thank the members of Congress who took the time to meet with us, as well as thank Brien Sheahan for making the trip in order to lobby on our county’s behalf.”
While in Washington, Schillerstrom and Sheahan met with U.S. Senator Roland Burris and Congressmen Jerry Costello and Daniel Lipinski. Aside from the stimulus plan, Schillerstrom and Sheahan also discussed the forthcoming Federal Transportation Bill scheduled to come before Congress this year, and more specifically, its impact on DuPage County.
This was the second time in under a month that Schillerstrom has traveled to Washington D.C. to lobby for the county’s inclusion in the stimulus plan.
