SUBCOMMITTEE WILL EXAMINE INSURANCE RATES AND WELLNESS PROGRAM
DU PAGE COUNTY – Providing County employees with the best insurance coverage and rate, while at the same time saving the taxpayers money, is the goal of a new subcommittee that has been created by the County’s Finance Committee. “We are going to look at all aspects of our insurance policy here in DuPage, including rates and coverage, to ensure the best health coverage for our employees at the best value to taxpayers,” said Paul Fichtner, Chairman of the Finance Committee. In making his announcement, Fichtner said that County Board Members JR McBride (who will serve as Chairman), Debra Olson (District 4), John Curran (District 3), Jeff Redick (District 2) and Jim Zay (District 6). “I look forward to serving on this committee, whose goal is to provide tangible cost and health benefits to both our employees and our residents,” said JR McBride (District 4). “We will look at creating an employee advisory board to solicit input from our hard-working employees, as well as review wellness program initiatives that can help our employees maintain a healthier lifestyle, which in turn will save the County money.” The Subcommittee is expected to complete their work by June 30th.
