MICHELASSI TO GIVE PORTION OF SALARY TO CHARITY

DU PAGE COUNTY — Fulfilling a pledge made before being elected, DuPage County Board Member Tony Michelassi announced today that he was voluntarily reducing his county salary and giving the difference to charity.

“When I ran for the County Board, I made a promise to be a good steward of the people’s money,” said Michelassi (District 5).  “Therefore, each month a portion of my paycheck will go toward local charities that are helping those most in need.”

Michelassi’s current gross salary as a County Board member is $50,079 a year. However, he has decided to accept only $36,000 a year.  As a result, Michelassi will be donating the balance to local charities within District 5, which comes to $815.82 a month.

“In making this announcement, I am asking the residents of District 5 to contact me with information about local charities that they would like to see supported,” said Michelassi.  “Then, based on their input, I will select the top three charitable recommendations I receive each month.”

Residents can email their suggestions to Anthony.michelassi@dupageco.org.  Those without email can send in their suggestions to DuPage County Board Member Tony Michelassi, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187
