SCHILLERSTROM PRAISES ILLINOIS HOUSE FOR PASSAGE OF WESTERN ACCESS RESOLUTION

DU PAGE COUNTY ― DuPage County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom is praising the Illinois House of Representatives for passing a resolution this week authorizing the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to expand the Illinois toll highway system to include Western Access to O’Hare International Airport. 

“Establishing a western access point to O’Hare Airport will create jobs, stimulate our economy and bring needed congestion relief to our region,” said Schillerstrom, who has long championed this project.  “I want to thank the members of the Illinois House for supporting this important resolution and I am hopeful the Illinois Senate will support it as well.”

House Joint Resolution 30, which passed 114-1, supports the construction of a western access point along the western edge of O’Hare Airport between 1-90 (Northwest/Jane Addams Tollway) and I-294 (Tri-State Tollway), with the extension to be constructed in a generally east-west direction between west of I-290 (near Roselle Road) at the west and the Bypass at the east (commonly known as the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway).
