FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DUPAGE COUNTY LOOKS FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON BUDGET DU PAGE COUNTY -- Over the coming months, DuPage County will be soliciting input from residents with regard to the 2009 Budget Calendar. The calendar, which was passed in April 2009, provides a timeline through which the public can follow the entire budget process. A link to the 2010 budget calendar is currently posted on the county's homepage, which can be found at www.dupageco.org. "We would like to get as much feedback from the public as possible," said DuPage County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom. "Our commitment to transparency is as strong as ever, and by keeping an open dialogue with the residents of DuPage we can continue that commitment." In an effort to hear from the public on what issues are most important to them, residents are encouraged to attend the weekly County Board Committee meetings throughout the month of June, in which the committees will be having preliminary discussions on the budget. The public is welcome to attend these meetings and share their thoughts during the committee's public comment period. Paul Fichtner, DuPage County Board Member and Chairman of the Finance Committee, says that he looks forward to working with the public in crafting the Fiscal Year 2010 budget. In fact, a link is available on the county's budget calendar webpage which residents can use to email him directly. "We want to give residents every possible opportunity to contribute to this process," said Fichtner. "As we start thinking about putting together another budget, I hope people take advantage of the chance to share their thoughts." To view the budget calendar, please visit: www.dupageco.org/budget.
